Thousands of students in Senegal now have a baobike to reach school on time, reducing absenteeism and improving performance. For many, it’s the first step toward a future full of possibilities.
Building Opportunity with Bicycle Workshops
We’re proud to have established local bicycle workshops in high schools in rural Senegal, providing essential maintenance and repair services for every baobike. These workshops not only keep bicycles in perfect condition—ensuring students can reach school safely every day—but also create jobs for trained local mechanics, strengthening the self-sufficiency and resilience of the communities we serve.

MEASURABLE RESULTS
Our program has proven results: schools in the project report up to 90% improvement in punctuality, lower dropout rates, and better academic outcomes—like the Lycée de Palmarin’s BAC pass rate, well above the regional average.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Families contribute a small annual fee for maintenance, ensuring shared responsibility and pride. This model builds ownership and reinforces the value of education for the whole community.
